  1. General Details

Tigonis Tigoguard 2K Acrylic Waterproofing Coating  is an acrylic cementitious, polymer modified elastomeric, waterproofing & protective coating .This is  composed of best quality Portland cement, properly selected & graded aggregates, additives & acrylic emulsion polymer as a binder. It is applied to waterproof and protect concrete and masonry substrates. When the acrylic-modified emulsion is applied according to direction, the cured coating become a tough, flexible and seamless waterproof membrane and acts as an excellent water barrier to Concrete and Masonry Surface.

  2. Description
    Application areas

Tigonis Tigoguard 2K Acrylic Waterproofing Coating must be applied to new or old concrete substrates

    • Waterproof coating for bathrooms, kitchen sinks, balconies, etc.
    • Excellent as a coating for waterproofing of chhajjas, canopies, etc.
    • Good for waterproof coating on internal sides of domestic water tanks.
    • Waterproofing of sloped roofs.
    • Waterproof coating for terraces areas ( 100 – 150 sqm )
    Features & Benefits
    • Easy to apply by brush
    • Flexible and bridges cracks in concrete surfaces.
    • Elastomeric flexible coating
    • Provides a waterproof surface & eliminate water leakage.
    • UV Resistance
    • Non-Toxic
    Surface Preparation
    • Surface must be clean and dry to ensure adequate adhesion.
    • Surface must free from oil, grease, dust, loose particles and other foreign material.
    • Cracks and voids must be filled with an appropriate Crack Filler.
    • Any defects on surface should be repaired prior to application of membrane.
    • Cracks due to shrinkage should be repaired with polymer modified mortar.
    Mixing
    • Shake the liquid well before mixing.
    • Add the power into the liquid portion and mix it slowly with slow speed mechanical stirrer.
    • Continue to stir thoroughly to achieve lump free homogenous slurry.
    • Allow the mixture to stand for 5-10 mins to release the trapped air
    Application
    • All the pipes or sanitary fittings should have been fitted properly and it is mandatory that all works of plumbing and sanitation must be complete before taking up application of waterproof emulsion.
    • The surface of application must be pre-wetted thoroughly with water & brought to a touch dry state.
    • Apply the 1st coat of mixed material using brush over the prepared surface.
    • The first coat must be well applied into the undulations of the surface.
    • When 1st coat is dry in 4- 6 hrs, apply the 2nd coat.
    • Sprinkle liberally coarse quartz sand while second coat is still wet to provide key for subsequent plaster or tile application.
    • It is mandatory to protect the coating by overlaying mortar or plaster or tile.
    • Leave the coating without water curing for 2 days at least.
    • If the membrane is applied in areas exposed to foot traffic, it must be protected with a screed overlaid, during the application itself.
