Category: Construction Chemicals
- General Details
Tigonis 1K Acrylic Waterproofing Coating is an acrylic cementitious, polymer modified elastomeric, waterproofing & protective coating. It is applied to waterproof and protect concrete and masonry substrates.
- DescriptionApplication areas
Waterproof coating for bathrooms, kitchen sinks, balconies, chhajjas, domestic water tanks, terraces areas etc.
Features & Benefits- Easy to apply by brush
- UV Resistance
- Excellent adhesion to concrete and masonry substrates
- Provides a waterproof surface & eliminate water leakage.
- Economic and high durability
- Non Toxic
Surface Preparation- Surface must be clean and dry to ensure adequate adhesion.
- Surface must free from oil, grease, dust, loose particles and other foreign material.
- Cracks and voids must be filled.
- Any defects on surface should be repaired prior to application of membrane
Mixing- Shake the liquid well before mixing.
- Add the cement into the liquid portion ( 1 OPC 53 cement : 0.5 Tigocrete ) and mix it slowly with slow speed mechanical stirrer.
- Continue to stir thoroughly to achieve lump free homogenous slurry.
- Allow the mixture to stand for 5-10 mins to release the trapped air.
- Application
- The surface of the application must be pre-wetted thoroughly with water & brought to a touch dry state.
- Apply the 1st coat of mixed material using brush over the prepared surface.
- The first coat must be well applied into the undulations of the surface.
- When 1st coat is dry in 4- 6 hrs, apply the 2nd coat.
- Sprinkle liberally coarse quartz sand while second coat is still wet to provide key for subsequent plaster or tile application.
- It is mandatory to protect the coating by overlaying mortar or plaster or tile.
- Leave the coating without water curing for 2 days at least.
- If the membrane is applied in areas exposed to foot traffic, it must be protected with a screed overlaid, during the application itself.
Curing- Tigonis 1K waterproofing coating should allow to air cure for 3-6 hours after the final coat.
- Rapid drying of the coating by covering the coating with help of polythene sheet in case of high humidity and windy condition should avoid.
- Moist curing after the air-drying is advisable following to air cured for 3 days before submerging it in water.
Method Of Application ( For Repairing )- All renovation works in concrete substrate to be carried out with repair mortar modified with TIGOCRETE.
- 10-15% of Tigocrete by weight of cement mortar prepared ( Cement : Sand = 1 : 3 ratio ) to be mixed for all repair and patch work.
